Privacy Policy
The Parent Information Center and its projects have a policy of confidentiality for all communications. We will never share, sell, trade, or in any other way divulge names, addresses, telephone numbers or any other personally identifiable information about anyone who contacts PIC or any of its projects by phone, e-mail, in person, by attending one of our workshops, conferences or training sessions, or by any other means.
Our mailing list is used strictly by PIC and PIC on Special Education staff to communicate with individuals who have expressed an interest in the services we provide.

Social Media Policy
The Parent Information Center (PIC) participates in Facebook to engage and inform individuals/organizations about issues and ideas concerning PIC’s mission and vision. We provide this content to encourage dialogue and assist our audiences in making informed decisions in the special education process and health care systems. By participating in the content shared on our page, you are agreeing to our posting policy.
Social Comment Disclaimer
We encourage open discussion, which includes disagreement. It is expected that this will be done in a respectful manner. Please note that PIC does not agree with or endorse every comment that is posted on our page.
PIC reserves the right to delete comments that contain:
- Hate speech
- Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity
- Nudity in profile pictures
- Defamation to a person or people
- Name calling and/or personal attacks;
- Comments whose main purpose are to sell a product, and
- Comments that infringe on copyrights;
- Comments that are clearly off topic or not relevant;
- Posts or comments that do not align with the mission of PIC
- Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly on a profile, and
- Other comments that PIC’s Social Media team deems inappropriate.
All links posted as comments on our posts will be reviewed and may be deleted.
Repeated violations of the PIC comment policy may cause the author to be blocked from the PIC Facebook page.
We understand that social media is a 24/7 medium; however, our moderation capabilities are not. We may not see every inappropriate comment right away, and we are trusting in the maturity of our community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech or respond politely.
