Assistive Technology Resources for Students Available Through ATinNH

Navigating resources for children can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be.  In this workshop Sara Valli, director of ATinNH will cover Assistive Technology materials,
equipment, and resources available to students and families through ATinNH.

During this workshop, you will:

This training will help you understand two important parts of the special education process: Written Prior Notice and Parental Consent.

Participants will learn:
• What Written Prior Notice is and when schools must
give it to you
• What Parental Consent means and when you need to
give it
• How these rights help you stay informed and involved in
decisions about your child’s education

Navigating resources for children with visual impairments can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be. In this workshop Sara Valli, director of ATinNH will dive into the resources available through their lending library for students who are blind or visually impaired.

During this workshop, you will learn about:

  • the role of AT in the special education process and IEP
  • The process IEP Teams should use when considering AT
  • The wide variety of AT tools available for children who are blind or visually impaired
  • Strategies students can use to self-advocate for AT accommodations
