What is the NH B-8 Early Childhood
Family-Community Advisory Council?

The B-8 engages family and community members to provide insights on what New Hampshire families and children need to thrive. This group informs the Governor’s Council for Thriving Children and other early childhood stakeholders to ensure NH’s early childhood systems, services, and resources are informed by the families and children they serve and the professionals who support them.

Members of this team are parents and caregivers of children under the age of eight years old, early childhood providers, advocates, and public and private stakeholders, representing diverse experiences, perspectives, backgrounds, cultures, and landscapes across NH.

We do the following:

  • Advise the Council on various early childhood issues, initiatives, and policies from the perspectives of families that utilize them and the early childhood professionals who support them.
  • Review and make suggestions to ensure early childhood resources and information are accessible and easy to understand.
  • Capture and elevate the wants, needs, and ideas of historically underrepresented families caring for young children in the Granite State.
  • Provide clarity on opportunities and barriers regarding policy and practice implementation in communities.
  • Share what we learn from each other and our communities with stakeholders at all levels of the early childhood system.
  • Commit to attending and participating actively in meetings held each month.
